Matthew Arnold, AIA

Senior Associate | Architect

Matthew Arnold joined Hacin in 2009 and has expertise in residential, commercial, and hospitality design. He has served as project architect and project manager for key Hacin projects such as District Hall, Beacon Courtyard TH, Iron Works, and the James Beard-nominated Shore Leave. Since joining the team, Matthew has taken on every type of project in the firm’s portfolio, equipping him with a unique and diverse range of design experience. He has a strong comprehension of the interdisciplinary process, having collaborated on many projects that incorporate all three of our disciplines. Matthew received a Master of Architecture from Northeastern University and completed a co-op work-study program at Hacin prior to graduating. He went on to work at William Rawn Associates and Utile, gaining experience in commercial and institutional projects, and traveled to Rome to study sustainable design in a historic urban context, before returning to our studio in 2011 as a full-time team member. Matthew is passionate about educating the next generation of designers; in 2015, he took on the role of adjunct professor for a housing design studio course at his alma mater. When he’s not in the studio, Matthew is typically working on home improvement projects at his home in Jamaica Plain and sharing the progress on social media- you can follow along on Instagram at @arnold__the_architect!
