Garden View Residence

Nestled near the Boston Public Garden, this private residence occupies one floor of a historic condominium building and was reimagined as a long-term residence for a couple ready to begin their next chapter in the city. Elevated minimalism served as the guiding concept, creating calm through clarity and restraint, while allowing for graphic punches of color and contrast. Bold gestures were juxtaposed within serene spaces and each intervention was rooted in functionality, from the positioning of the kitchen island, hood, and chandelier to the careful coordination of the dining table, shelving, and living room lighting; subtle moves created visual order and support daily routines. From the main living area, the home looks out at the nearby landscape at treetop level, high enough for privacy, yet close enough to feel connected to the life and movement of the city below. European influences informed the material palette, with an eclectic mix of finishes sourced from France that lend a sense of formality and layered texture.
