Welcoming Rita Duan and Emma Tracy to the Studio!

Hacin recently welcomed two new interns to our office, Rita Duan and Emma Tracy. We are so excited to work with these talented individuals for the next few months and utilize their skills on design projects across typologies. Read on to learn more about Rita and Emma!

Rita Duan

Rita received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Scenography Studies from Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma in Italy in 2018, as well as a Master of Interior Architecture degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2021, with a major in Exhibition and Narrative Environment. While at RISD, she focused on the space design of interior architecture and its related interdisciplinary studies. She also spent a gap year from 2018 to 2019 in Nepal, teaching art at a local school in Kathmandu as a volunteer. She recently completed an internship with Charlap Hyman & Herrero in Los Angeles, where she participated in designing several residential and commercial buildings, including the new Boston Aesop store on Newbury Street. Outside the studio, she enjoys cooking, reading novels at home (a real homebody!), and watching movies with her partner and cat.

“The architectural design is a combination of mirrors and windows: where the mirror provides an inward view of ourselves, a piece of experience or a memory, and the window provides an outward view of the world, an understanding of nature and human history.”

Emma Tracy

Emma Tracy is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture with a minor in Graphic and Information Design from Northeastern University. Before joining Hacin, she completed a co-op at Massport where she primarily worked on sustainability and resilience strategies for the city of Boston. She also recently completed an internship with William Rawn Associates. Aside from architecture and design, she is very passionate about traveling and has completed study abroad programs in Rome, Italy, and Segovia, Spain!
