Two Designers Join Hacin’s Architecture Practice
We’re happy to welcome two members to Hacin’s architecture practice this fall, Marla Stephens and Jeffrey Gaudet.
Both bring a depth of private residential design experience to our practice, with skills and perspectives we’re thrilled to add to our collective perspective! If you see Marla or Jeffrey around our studio, be sure to say hi!

Marla Stephens
Marla is an architectural designer at Hacin who joined the team in 2026, bringing a background in high-end residential design. She finds inspiration in the subtleties that shape a sense of place, often overlooked but felt. Drawn to the objects, textures, and landscapes she encounters, she brings a curious and intentional eye to her work, with a focus on the details that give each project its character.
Marla holds both a Bachelor of Design (2022) and a Master of Architecture (2024) from the University of Florida. There, she thrived in a fast-paced studio environment and was recognized with the AIA Henry Adams Medal, awarded to the most outstanding graduate degree student. She also received the Graduate Award for Excellence in Teaching. Alongside her studies, she spent time abroad in Italy and the Netherlands, where she encountered thoughtful approaches to design across architecture, art, and traditions of making. In these experiences, she cultivated a lasting appreciation for how different cultures live, work, play, and connect with their environment.
Outside of the studio, she enjoys time in the pottery studio and slow mornings at her favorite coffee shops. She also spends as much time by the ocean (and collecting as many shells) as she can.
“I believe that architecture should not only be functional, but deeply personal. Details give shape to our rituals, and our rituals, in turn, shape how we design. We all design our lives.”

Jeffrey Gaudet
Jeffrey is a licensed architect with a multi-faceted design background who joined Hacin in 2026. He brings a broad range of experience in custom residential design and project management, along with an enthusiasm for building strong client relationships.
He holds a Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies and Art History from Tufts University. This interdisciplinary education in history, theory, and design research cultivated a deep appreciation for holistic design and continues to inform his approach to his work. Jeffrey is inspired by creative collaboration and particularly interested in interior detailing and material expression.
Jeffrey’s passion for architecture and design grew from his connection to the city. A Boston native, he has also lived in New York City and Madrid and continues to draw inspiration from urban environments. He is a lover of all things food-related, whether centering travel around exploring restaurants, frequenting favorite local spots, or experimenting with new baking recipes.
“As designers, our work finds its meaning in how people experience and connect with it. Whether through quiet details or bold gestures, we shape the spaces in which people spend their lives, and therein lies the true privilege of our work.”
